first off, single speed it, then take off your front brake, get a Marzocchi DJ1 or Rockshox Argyle fork. Get stronger rims and change your tires to something along the lines of maxxis holy rollers or kenda k-rads front and rear.

Haven't had experience with that particular fork. This pic isn't mine. I've run Manitou suspension and they're running pretty good.

IT probably shaved off quite a bit of weight too. They were friggen thick stickers! The retro look was pretty bad ass, but the future prototype look looks even more bad ass .

That pic is extremely old. I didn't weigh it then but it was extremely light I just went on my gut on what it felt like. Before I made those changes, I had it down to 29 with a lightweight XC/AM build. But that was taken just under 2 years ago and that bike is long gone from my hands, it's final weight was in the 36lbs range.

I'd watch, and bring a shitload of booze and food for the other guys watching.
